Lake Howell High School is committed to developing students to their fullest intellectual and social potential in an atmosphere of mutual trust, respect, and collaboration. We provide students with excellent academic and vocational programs using a flexible and relevant curriculum, challenging them to produce their best work and accommodating for individual differences and learning styles. We encourage cooperation among the family, the school, and the community as the best means to ensure that our students assume the personal responsibilities needed for them to reach their greatest potential and become responsible citizens and active, life-long learners in the work force and the global community.

Florida State Grants & Scholarships
Any senior interested in Florida Grants and/or Scholarships must complete an online application at www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org. This includes Bright Futures Scholarships. Submission of documented community service hours are due by May 1, 2017. Please click here for more information.

Mrs. Lauren Oliva was named Lake Howell High School's 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year and a Seminole County Teacher of the Year Finalist! Mr. Tim Bridges was named Lake Howell High School's 2016-2017 Support Person of the Year. Congratulations!

Attention Lake Howell Alumni!
Lake Howell High School is looking for information on any alumni service men or women who are MIA or KIA so we can honor them. They can be any branch of the military or a first responder (police, fire, and rescue). If you know of someone, please contact Lake Howell with the name of the alumni, the year they were at Lake Howell, the branch they served in, and any other important information so that we may look into it. School Connects

This system allows us to notify the community of school closings, absences, and emergency situations using email, voice, and text messaging. To receive messages please make sure that all of your contact information is up to date in Skyward. To receive text messages you must opt in by sending the message “join” to 56360. 
Please note you will not be able to reply to text messages sent from the school.

Sports Physicals
Physicals are required for participation in athletics. Paramount Urgent Care in Oviedo is offering $20 physicals with $10 coming back to Lake Howell. What a great way to help out Silver Hawk Athletics! Click here for more information.

Lake Howell Showcase
Join us on February 1, 2017 at 6pm in the Lake Howell Cafeteria & Auditorium for our 8th Grade Parent Night & Showcase. Our club and program expo will begin at 6pm in the cafeteria followed by our program at 6:30pm in the auditorium. Mark Your Calendars: 5Essentials Survey is Coming in January!
Beginning January 24th, teachers, parents, and students across the district will once again have an opportunity to participate in the 5Essentials Survey. On January 24th, parents will receive the link to the survey via Skyward Family. The link will also be available on the SCPS website. Please mark your calendars and plan to participate in this opportunity to provide your input.

NHS Tutoring
If you need help in any of your classes, free tutoring is provided by National Honor Society every Thursday after school in the Media Center.

Driver's Ed Data Course and Learner's Permit Test Online
Need to take your 4-hour Drug and Alcohol course or your online Driving Rules Test?  Simply click here to begin the registration process. 


The Class of 2017 will graduate on May 23, 2017 at 2:30pm at the UCF Area.


Prom will be on Friday, April 28, 2017.

We are off to a great start to the new school year and look forward to seeing everyone at our SAC meetings. We are always looking for new members that represent a cross-section of our diverse student population. FIT's High School Ethics Competition
The Center for Ethics and Leadership at Florida Tech's Bisk College of Business is offering an opportunity to earn a certification in Business Ethics for participating in the High School Ethics Competition on March 10, 2017. The requirements to earn the certification are to successfully participate in the 2017 Ethics Competition and to complete a 4 hour seminar that will be offered on January 28, 2017.
