To the Lake Howell school website. Our theme for the 2014-2015 school year is "ASAP: Analyze, Synthesize, Apply and Problem Solve", and we invite our community, students, parents, faculty and staff again this year to be an integral part of the success of Lake Howell.

The mission of Lake Howell High School is to help students meet their academic, social, emotional and vocational needs by using a flexible curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking and responsibility, challenging our students to develop their greatest potential to become responsible citizens in the work force and global community.

Parents: Please do not drop off students on Dike Road or any of the subdivision streets. 

For the safety of your student, please use the approved drop-off area in the parking lot by the Cafeteria.
U-Turns and stopping to drop off students on Dike Road are dangerous traffic violations and could result in a traffic citation.

New Attendance Policy: Effective immediately phone calls to the school will not be honored for the early release of students. Parents/guardians requesting the early release of their student from school prior to the end of the school day will need to do one of the following:

1) You will need to personally come to the administration office to sign out and pick up your student. Valid identification will be requested such as state ID or driver's license to confirm your identity before student will be released to you.

2) If you are unable to come in to sign out and pick up your student then a signed note from you indicating the date and time of the requested early release will need to be submitted to the front office. A contact number needs to be provided no later than the morning the day before the requested early release date to confirm your request. The contact number needs to be one that is currently on file and part of your student's school record.

Computer-based FCAT 2.0 Reading Retakes will be held at Lake Howell High School beginning at 7:20 a.m. in the Media Center during the week of October 13-17, 2014. Letters to students giving them their individual dates to test during that week were sent home on September 30, 2014.

Families In Transition invites ALL SCPS families to a FREE special event on Saturday, October 11, from noon-9 PM at Seminole Harley in Sanford.  Live bands, karaoke and a DJ will be on stage all day.  Other family-friendly activities, food, and prize items will be available.  Please contact Families In Transition at 407-746-8518 or www.seminolehomelesskids.org for more information.  Families In Transition is a program of The Foundation for the Seminole County Public Schools.

Students who are feeling sick should report to the school clinic located in the registration area.

Students must have parental consent to leave campus. Parents or approved persons named on the Emergency Information section of Skyward or the Emergency Card may pick up students at the front office with valid identification when checking the student out due to injury or illness; a completed Excused Absentee Form must be turned into the front office upon the students return to school; the form is listed on the LHHS web site and available at the front desk.   Students who have driven to school may be checked out with parental consent however the parent or legal guardian must be able to be reached by telephone prior to the student being allowed to leave campus on their own.  Suspected abuse of this privilege may require documentation from a licensed physician as prescribed in F.S. 232.09 (4).
