We provide students with excellent academic and vocational programs using a flexible and relevant curriculum, challenging them to produce their best work and accommodating for individual differences and learning styles. Mrs. Lauren Oliva was named Lake Howell High School's 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year. Mr. Tim Bridges was named Lake Howell High School's 2016-2017 Support Person of the Year. Congratulations!

Attention Lake Howell Alumni!
Lake Howell High School is looking for information on any alumni service men or women who are MIA or KIA so we can honor them. They can be any branch of the military or a first responder (police, fire, and rescue). Congratulations, John McCombs!

Lake Howell Alumni, John McCombs, Class of 2016, earned a perfect score on the AP Research Exam. He was one of only 38 students in the world (1.3% of all exam takers) to earn every point possible. Great job, John!

Free & Reduced Lunch

School Connects

This system allows us to notify the community of school closings, absences, and emergency situations using email, voice, and text messaging. To receive messages please make sure that all of your contact information is up to date in Skyward. To receive text messages you must opt in by sending the message “join” to 56360. 
Please note you will not be able to reply to text messages sent from the school.

Sports Physicals
Physicals are required for participation in athletics. Paramount Urgent Care in Oviedo is offering $20 physicals with $10 coming back to Lake Howell. What a great way to help out Silver Hawk Athletics! Click here for more information.

Hawk Buck Raffle
Hawk Buck Raffle will be Monday, December 12th and Tuesday, December 13th during both lunches in the cafeteria. If you have received any for Quarter 2, please put your name on them and turn them in so you can get a chance to win a prize for showing your Hawk PRIDE! Prizes will include fast food gift cards, $25 Papa Johns gift card, and a Prom Ticket!

NHS Tutoring
Semester exams are approaching quickly! If you need help in any of your classes, free tutoring is provided by National Honor Society every Thursday after school in the Media Center.

Driver's Ed Data Course and Learner's Permit Test Online
Need to take your 4-hour Drug and Alcohol course or your online Driving Rules Test?  Simply click here to begin the registration process. 

SCPS After School Driver Education Course

This program is a collaborative effort between Seminole County Public Schools, Seminole County Board of County Commissioners, METROPLAN Orlando, the City of Altamonte Springs, the City of Longwood, the City of Sanford and the City of Winter Springs. The course includes classroom instruction, range driving and on the road driving.
When: January 23 – May 10, 2017. This is a semester course. Classes will meet on either Mondays and Wednesdays OR Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 - 5:15 PM.
Where: Lyman High School, Seminole High School and Winter Springs High School however, the course is open to all SCPS students.
Requirements: Students must be 15 years old with a valid Florida Learner’s permit to register for the course. Students are required to have their driver’s license and student ID on them at all times.
Cost: Free
Transportation: Not provided.
Registration Deadline: January 13, 2017
Students must complete an application and submit it to their home school by the registration deadline of January 13, 2017. Click here for more information.

Each day will have a break from 11:20-11:45 a.m.

The Class of 2017 will graduate on May 23, 2017 at 2:30pm at the UCF Area.

Prom will be on Friday, April 28, 2017.

FIT's High School Ethics Competition
The Center for Ethics and Leadership at Florida Tech's Bisk College of Business is offering an opportunity to earn a certification in Business Ethics for participating in the High School Ethics Competition on March 10, 2017. The requirements to earn the certification are to successfully participate in the 2017 Ethics Competition and to complete a 4 hour seminar that will be offered on January 28, 2017.
